Strenght training for runners

This is it! The running season has begun! Many of you have been waiting for the nice weather to put on your shoes and enjoy the sunny days. Did you know that strength training can greatly help you run better, improve your time and reduce soreness?

Stronger muscles allow for smoother running, reduce the risk of injury, and make you more efficient and faster! By working on your muscular endurance in particular (sets of 12 to 15 repetitions with moderately heavy weights), your tendons will become stronger, better blood circulation will irrigate your muscles and your body will tolerate an effort longer. It is therefore a good idea to integrate strength training into your running season now!
